Nonprofit hosts paddleball clinic in Castle Hill
Paddleball is making a comeback in the Bronx, decades after it once dominated parks in the borough.
The Paddleball Family Alliance, a nonprofit organization that aims to promote health and keep kids off the streets, runs a clinic on the sport in Castle Hill's Zerega Indoor Paddleball Courts.
The sport shares characteristics with both handball and tennis. Children between 8 and 13 years old could take part in the clinic and learn the basics -- as well as good sportsmanship and self-confidence.
Organizers say anyone with a paddle and a ball can play paddleball, because there are many of courts accessible in the tristate area.
The Paddleball Family Alliance has information available on its website for kids who'd like to learn the sport.
