The vote on a controversial plan to turn a former sod farm into a solar farm in Shoreham has been delayed.
The Brookhaven Town Planning Board listened to hundreds of residents who voiced their concerns over a proposal to build a 9.5-megawatt solar production facility in Shoreham. Many were concerned about property values being affected and potential health issues.
Developer Christian Wiedemann says there are "absolutely no health risks" concerning the project.
The board says it will take into consideration both sides and then decide. That vote could take place in several weeks.
