B-Sens eliminated from playoffs with 4-1 loss to Albany

ALBANY, N.Y. – The Binghamton Senators fell 4-1 to the Albany Devils as Paul Thompson recorded a hat trick to eliminate the B-Sens from the 2015-16 Calder Cup Playoffs.

Brad Mills opened the scoring 14:12 into the opening frame with his 4th goal of the year off a feed from Derek Grant. Despite being outshot in the period, Peter Mannino stopped all 15 scoring chances for the Devils to give the B-Sens the 1-0 lead at the first intermission break.

Thompson managed to record his third hat trick of the season throughout the final two periods. The first two goals came in the second period a little over two minutes apart both on the power play. Thompson’s final goal came at 14:59 of the third period to complete the hat trick bid. Scott Timmins pushed the final score to 4-1 on an empty-net tally with less than a minute remaining.

Peter Mannino ended the night with 33 saves while Scott Clemmensen had 26 saves to record the win.

Binghamton will be on home ice again Tuesday, April 7, as they host the Norfolk Admirals at 7:05p.m.
