Catholic Charities is Looking For Donations for their Spring Food Drive

It might not quite feel like spring yet but Catholic Charities needs your help for it's spring food drive.

The drive will take place this Saturday and Sunday from 9:00am to 8:00pm at the Johnson City Walmart.

The drive will be used to restock the shelves of the two emergency food pantries operated by Catholic Charities in Broome County.

Officials say that with students off from school next week the demand for food will be even higher because those students won't get meals from the school.

Kathy Pafaffenbach the Supervisor of EMS for Catholic Charities said, "It's also at a time where their food resources are very low. It's also at a time where our food sources are very low so we really do need these donations to come in and stock our shelves to be able to feed the families that'll be coming in next week."

According to Officials from Catholic Charities over the past six months children and elderly make up 56% of the people served by these pantries.
