Students For Change Hold Town Hall Meeting With BU President
A group of Binghamton University students are following up on their requests for changes when it comes to discrimination on campus...
The "Students For Change" group held another meeting Wednesday night, this time with BU President Harvey Stenger. Earlier in March the group met with the head of the BU Multi-Cultural Resource Center but students say they realized they needed to make their case to the most powerful person on campus, so the President was the next step. Students would like to see adjustments to policies on discrimination and racism on campus, specifically towards the black, latino and LGBTQ community.
Jessica Dunn of Students for Change said, " We know that he alone is not able to address all of our demands but it's really important that someone at the top is saying that this is important and that these issues are being worked on because as of now we've seen no urgency from the administration that these demands are important, that they'll ever be implemented.
Students For Change plan on holding another meeting this Friday in order to speak to the student body and give a recap of Wednesday night's progress.
