Cal Harris Trial; Former NYS Trooper Leslie Hyman Takes the Stand

Former NYS Trooper Leslie Hyman analyzed Michele's cell phone as well as all the phone records in this case.

Wednesday, Hyman testified that there was one missed call on Michele's cell phone from the Harris home at 7:13 a.m. on the morning of her disappearance. Prosecutors argue that the call was made by Barbara Thayer.

The former Harris nanny previously testified that she tried calling Michele's phone when she arrived at the Harris home that morning. The defense, however, claims that it was actually Cal who made that call and say there is no way Thayer could have made the drive to the Harris home in time to place that call. Additionally Hyman testified that Cal never contacted authorities to inform them about his wife's disappearance. Annette Thorne, the paralegal for Michele's deceased divorce attorney, provided further insight on divorce proceedings between Cal and Michele. According to Thorne just 12 days before the Harris' scheduled divorce trial Michele's attorney Robert Miller had not completed any discovery for the case, including appraisals of the Harris home, additional real estate and Cal's car dealerships.

Thorne testified that Mr.Miller would have been prepared for the October 22nd divorce trial despite the lack of discovery. Cal's defense team says that based on these findings it's unreasonable for prosecutors to argue the impending divorce trial as motivation for the crime.

Testimony will continue Thursday morning at 9:15 with the continued questioning of Leslie Hyman.
