League of Women Voters holds Child Care Concerns Program

When it comes to care for their children parents want the best, but for many that doesn't come easily.

Today at Tioga Opportunities, The League of Women Voters held a child care concerns program to support families living near the poverty line.

Officials say that it really does take a village to raise a child and they wanted to inform parents of the community resources available.

"Every working mom and every working dad worries about what happens during the day when they have to be at work and our children are in child-care. It's hard to find child-care it's hard to pay for child-care," said Susan Ruff, Vice President of the League of Women Voters.

Officials say that programs like the Family Enrichment Network has services for people to help families find child care for them, and that each county has a department of social services which also has funds to subsidize for child care.
