Assemblymen Co-Chair Bowling Tournament to Benefit ACHIEVE Foundation
Assemblymen are hitting the bowling lanes to help raise funds toward a program that assists people with disabilities.
Assemblymen Clifford Crouch and Chris Friend took to Midway Lanes in Vestal Saturday for the 20th annual Pin Crushing Bowling Tournament. The assemblymen co-chaired the event raising money for the ACHIEVE foundation. It was a full house with more than 300 people.
The tournament was just $35 for members and $40 for non-members to bowl.
Assemblyman Clifford Crouch said, "They came up with the idea and they started it just to raise money for the organization and its for special events and things like that, that they don't have in their budget. So it was very successful the first year and it's grown ever since."
The tournament raised around $1,600 And also unveiled Saturday: a new name for the tournament! The tournament will now be named after its' founder -- Bob Warner -- making it the Bob Warner Pin Crusher Tournament.
