Binghamton Police Release Details on Mather Street Shooting

A New York City man is facing attempted second degree murder and first degree robbery charges after a shooting in Binghamton.
Police say around 9:25 Saturday night Jayvel Hatcher, 38 held a man at gun point on Thorpe Street and stole his coat, cell phone and money.
Police say Hatcher then walked to Mather Street and the victim followed him in his Nissan Pathfinder. Hatcher then began shooting at the victim. An officer in the area heard the gunshots and saw the victim crash his pathfinder into a parked trailer. Hatcher was eventually taken into custody. Police have not recovered the weapon and are still looking for another black male that was with Hatcher.
