Michele Harris' Father Takes Stand in Cal Harris Murder Trial

By Fox 40 Staff.
The father of Michele Harris testified Wednesday in the trial of the man charged with killing her - her husband Cal Harris. This is Cal Harris' third trial for Michele's murder since her disappearance in 2001.

Wednesday morning was the first morning that we have had this entire trial that the prosecution and the defense got through questioning multiple the end of the day 4 witnesses had been questioned and cross Examined. And among the witnesses called this morning was Gary Taylor, Michele's father.

Taylor was almost immediately emotional on the stand. He testified to Michele being a"wonderful mother" and that Michele was constantly interacting with her kids...she always brought them to Taylor's house, was planning birthday parties, Christmas, picnics, etc. Taylor testified that he became aware of the Harris' marital problems--and two meetings that he, Greg Taylor and Shannon Taylor had with cal before Michele's disappearance.

During the first meeting in November of 2000, the group met with the intention of excluding cal from thanksgiving that year because cal was having an affair at the time. Taylor testified that cal told them that he was having the affair because Michele kept a dirty house.

Taylor says the second meeting was in spring of 2001, when cal told the same three that he wanted them to convince Michele not to go through with the divorce. Taylor testified on cross that while cal never contacted him after Michele's disappearance, he also never reached out to cal.
