The Tioga Chamber of Commerce is looking to get people back into the workforce.
The Chamber is collaborating with Tioga's Employment Center to host a job fair. More than fifty businesses around the area have openings to fill and will be available to talk to potential employer on March 10th at the Owego Treadway Inn and Conference Center. County officials say they are eager to connect businesses with possible job applicants.
"This is a good opportunity for the employers to see the labor pool that they have available to them and for job seekers to get their face in front of an employer," said Sheri Mccall, Manager of Tioga County Employment Center.
"I definitely think people should be optimistic when they come. We have job openings, that was the criteria for having employers come," said CEO Tioga Chamber of Commerce, Gwen Kania.
Tioga's Employment Center will be holding a job fair prep workshop on Thursday at 2pm to help job seekers finalize their resume and offer interview tips.
