FRANKLYWNOW - Size doesn't matter for vertically-limited Bearcats

Size doesn't matter for vertically-limited Bearcats

With Dusan Perovic out for the year, and Nick Madray's playing time in the postseason limited if not completely unlikely, the Bearcats remain a small team both in numbers and in height. With their two tallest players unavailable for the last several weeks, Bobby Ahearn, Justin McFadden, Willie Rodriguez, and Magnus Richards have all needed to step up and stand taller in the paint.

"The mindset that they play with, they play with so much confidence and so much heart that it really doesn't matter about size anymore," said Marlon Beck, freshman point guard. "They can go in there and get them in foul trouble and get them out of the game, they're doing their job."

"We've played tough, we've boxed out, we've done our work early so to speak meaning, we don't just sit dead behind the post and let them throw it in to take advantage of our size, we're hustling," said Tommy Dempsey. "But above all the key is that our guys have learned how to fight for position early in possessions and that's helped us keep the ball out of the post."

Sixth seeded BU travels to 3-seed Stony Brook on Wednesday for a 7:00 tip off.
