Cheri Lindsey's Killer Stays in Maximum Security Prison

By Jason Weinstein.
The man who raped and killed 12-year-old Cheri Lindsey in Binghamton in 1984 will serve more of his time in maximum security prison.

Lindsey's father Dave launched a social media campaign to flood the Department of Corrections with objections to James Wales being moved from a maximum-security facility to a medium-security jail in anticipation of his parole eligibility in March of 2017. Lindsey's efforts paid off as he received word last week Wales is back in maximum security.

"I wrote the Commissioner a letter with my views and what I thought of his office and him. It must have gotten his attention because the next day we got a response from him saying that because I was so adamant and fanatic about it that they're going to move him back," said David Linsdey.

Lindsey's facebook post generated over 5,000 shares and over 3,000 people signed an online petition. Lindsey plans another social media push closer to March of 2017 to keep wales from receiving parole.
