Seton Catholic Students Prepare for Mission Trip to Haiti

Seton Catholic Central students are not packing their bags for vacation but a mission trip that starts this week on Ash Wednesday.

24 students and teachers will travel to haiti for a week to immerse themselves in the Port-au-Prince area.

They plan to volunteer at two orphanages and work at the Mother Teresa's Children's Hospital.

Monday morning, they filled the suitcases with items that have been donated to the haitian orphans.

This year's trip has more students participating because they have seen others come back with life changing experiences.

"I think it's something that everyone should do and I'm just really excited to go back because of all the opportunity that we bring over to them," said Seton Senior LeeAnn Marcello.

"It's a nice experience because it's a diverse group of kids from this school. So it's not all one group of kids. Also keep in mind too that the money that everybody has been raising goes to Haiti," said trip chaperone Sue Bucci.

Bucci started a go fund me account and raised $5,000 in donations for the trip.
