Keeping yourself going int the cold may not be your only concern.

AAA is offering tips on how to maintain your car in the sub-zero temperatures.

The company has reported an influx of callers needing assistance in the past few days due to the drop in temperatures.

AAA says dying batteries were a common issue, but there is one main thing you can do to prevent your car from "stalling out".

AAA President Richard Jacobs said, "Its probably better to not start it and let it idle rather hop in and take a ride to the store get the car up to a good operating temperature at least every other day and you'll find that that keeps the battery charged and everything running smoothly."

You'll also want to keep an emergency kit in the trunk, for both you and the car.

It should include a blanket, gloves, and hat. also engine oil, coolant, and washer fluid.
