STONY BROOK, N.Y. – Sabre Proctor had a game-high 14 points and Kori Bayne-Walker added 13 points, leading Stony Brook (11-9, 4-3 AE) to a 67-54 win over Binghamton (4-16, 2-5 AE) in an America East women's basketball game on Sunday afternoon at the Island Federal Credit Union Arena. The game marked the third straight road contest for the Bearcats.

It was the Seawolves' inside game that was the key to the victory. They outrebounded Binghamton 46-21 and corralled 22 of them at the offensive end. In the paint, Stony Brook outscored the Bearcats 38-10.

Despite their struggles in the post, the Bearcats rallied from an early 18-10 deficit to go up 24-22 with 3:41 left in regulation. Senior guard Gintare Surdokaite nailed the go-ahead three-point field goal.

The Seawolves, however, bounced back to go up 29-26 at the break.

In the second half, Stony Brook built their lead up to 39-30 on a jumper by Miranda Jenkins with 14:25 left in regulation. The Bearcats were able to get back to within 45-40 on a layup by freshman guard Jasmine Sina at the 10:57 mark.

The decisive run, however, was a 13-5 blitz by the Seawolves in a span of 5:05 to make it 65-51 with 1:39 left to go.

Sina, freshman guard Imani Watkins and junior guard Kim Albrecht each had a team-high 11 points. Watkins also added six rebounds and five assists.
Brittany Snow chipped in 10 points and six rebounds for Stony Brook.

Binghamton returns home on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. game against UMBC.
