Jon Jones talks about family reaction to failed drug test

Whether you know anyone in the Jones family or not, if you've ever watched a big game of Art's or Chandler's, or one of their head-to-head matches, or one of Jon's fights, you can tell that they're a tight knit family. After news broke that Jon Jones had failed his drug test back on December 4th and tested positive for cocaine, the first person he called was his mother. In an exclusive interview with Charissa Thompson of Fox Sports 1, Jones talked about his mother's reaction.

"It went surprisingly better than I thought it would," he said. "She was very supportive. She said 'Jon, I don't really care about your athletic career or your being somewhat of a celebrity or whatnot,' she said 'I care about you. How big of an issue is it, how bad of an issue is it.' I told her that it wasn't an issue at all."

At the same time, when he broke the news to his brothers, the reaction wasn't as friendly.

"My brothers were both really disappointed, I think I embarrassed them in the locker room with their respective teams. One of my brothers said they see it a lot in the NFL, but it's not as public."
