New Developments in the Lawsuit Against Mayor David

New developments in the lawsuit filed against Binghamton Mayor Rich David.

Daisy Dawson, the WBNG employee who is claiming David abused his position as Mayor and her attorney are looking to file a petition to have Mayor Rich David removed from office.

Last week, Dawson filed a suit claiming that on January 1st at the bar, Social on State, David's girlfriend Erica Aminalee hit her over the head with a glass for no apparent reason causing significant injuries

On Wednesday Dawson provided these pictures of her injuries, which she says were caused by Aminalee. The suit claims that David approached her bosses to have her stop cooperating with police on the investigation against his girlfriend.

In a written statement David states he he did not ask WBNG to take or refrain from taking any action. David called Dawson's actions a shakedown.

"Basically the Constitution provides for removal of public officials that engage in malfeasance, and this is precisely the kind of conduct that this constitutional provision is aimed at," said Attorney, Ron Benjamin.

Fox 40 spoke to Rich David's lawyer Kurt Shrader and he said he is reserving comment until a formal pleading is filed in court, if one is.
