Perovic suffers season ending injury

It's been a rough season on and off the court for the BU Bearcats Men's Basketball team and the hits just keep on coming. Tommy Dempsey announced Tuesday that freshman forward Dusan Perovic suffered a season ending ACL injury during a full court defensive drill in practice on Monday.

Perovic is the teams leading scorer this year with 11.5 points per game across 15 games and nine starts and adds 3.3 rebounds per game as well.

" "It's certainly a tough blow emotionally as well," Dempsey said. "It's a young team that's been through a lot, so to watch their teammate go down like he did yesterday, it's sad. Guys were shook, so it was more trying to get them back out there today, try to get our edge back, and try to focus on Hartford. We can't feel sorry for ourselves, injuries are a part of sports. Timing is never good to lose guys like that, but it certainly wasn't good for us right now, going through a bit of a struggle and it was a tough blow."

The Bearcats take to the road for their second conference matchup of the year, in Hartford on Wednesday. BU looking to snap a 13-game losing streak.
