This means that all userssearching the site's archive would see headlines and story summaries.The headlines/summaries would include the "protected" icon or textelement. Clicking on a headline would go to a "subscribe/log-in" page ifthe user is not a subscriber. Clicking on a headline would go to thestory page if the user is a subscriber and is logged in. * Version 1 will require the paywall status to be changed in theProducer * Automated AP National News and Sports would never be protected andwould be excluded from the paywall query/result process. * WorldNow's Lifestyle category would never be protected and would beexcluded from the paywall query/results process. * Weather pages would never be protected. However, any protected storyassigned to the weather category pages would show the "protectedcontent" icon or text element. * Specific category pages and links+ pages would always be protected.Example: a page that includes links to PDF versions of the newspaperwould always be behind the wall. Clicking on the navigation link wouldgo to a "subscribe/log-in" page if the user is not a subscriber. Asubscriber who is logged in would go directly to the page where the PDFfiles live. * In a meter-based model, we would tag certain content as eligible forthe metered approach and establish a 'click count' for the customer. Atvarious points in the count, the customer would encounter asubscribe/log-in page rather than the desired content.
