Using Command Prompt to Download Video Assets


This topic is about how to use CMD to download Video Assets


This tool is used when affiliates request video. This tool will make downloading videos quicker.


To set this up you will need to:

1. Open an MS-DOS or Command Prompt Window
2. Start an FTP session
3. Supply your username and password
4. Download the necessary files and exit the FTP session

1. Open an MS-DOS or Command Prompt Window

In Windows, the shortcut for the command or MS-DOS prompt is usually located in:

Start | Programs | Accessories | Command Prompt
Once you have the command prompt window open, you will want to go to the directory where you want the file to be downloaded.


To change the directory to the desktop you will need to run the following command

  • cd desktop "Enter"  As shown in the image below


Once you are in the specified directory, connect to the ftp site by running the following command i.e. ftp
