Troopers: Body found near Miller’s Reach is that of missing Houston woman

Published: Updated:

The body of a Houston woman, originally reported missing on Dec. 30, was discovered submerged in the Little Susitna River near Miller’s Reach Sunday, according to a Monday release from the Alaska State Troopers.

AST confirmed that the body found was that of Diana Pittser, 56, last seen on Dec. 29. She was reported missing last Wednesday, Dec. 30 after family and friends were unable to locate her. A ground search was launched shortly after troopers were initially notified.

“An investigation showed Pittser left her house on foot to walk to a nearby river,” troopers initially wrote in an online release.

Officials with the Mat-Su Borough Fire, EMS, and Dive Rescue assisted troopers with Sunday’s recovery effort.

Next of kin was at the scene and able to provide identification. Her body has been turned over to the State Medical Examiner’s office for autopsy.
