APD: Dead body discovered in unlocked vehicle Wednesday morning

An Anchorage man discovered a dead body inside his unlocked vehicle Wednesday morning, according to Anchorage Police Department spokesperson Renee Oistad.


The man told police he found a woman inside his vehicle around 8:50 a.m. and he believed she was dead.


Oistad said police responded to the Fairview neighborhood where the vehicle had been parked, near Karluk Street and East Eighth Avenue, and discovered the body inside the man’s Chevrolet pickup truck.


“There was nothing suspicious at the scene,” Oistad wrote.


A cause of death has not yet been released, pending the completion of an autopsy. Oistad said the autopsy will include toxicology results.
