Anchorage Police are investigating a fatal crash involving a pedestrian that occurred early Saturday morning.


Just before 3 a.m., a late model Chevy Malibu traveling southbound on Gambell Street struck 26-year-old Ian Glenn.


Police say Glenn was in the roadway outside of a crosswalk when he was hit. He was taken to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.


Witnesses told police at the scene that he had been skateboarding in the road when he was hit.


No charges have been filed in connection with this incident.


The driver has been identified as a 22-year-old Naila Halilic. She parked her car after striking Glenn and called police, APD wrote in the updated release.


Her car was impounded and she was arrested on an unrelated outstanding warrant.
