Motorcyclist identified in fatal Till Road crash

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) --The motorcyclist that died in a Thursday night crash has been identified.

The Allen County Coroner's office says they notified the next of kin and identified the rider as William James Stevens. Stevens was a 24-year-old Fort Wayne man.

The crash happened on Till Road near the intersection with Dawson's Creek Boulevard in Fort Wayne Thursday night.Police belive speed may be a factor in the crash. Stevens lost control of his motorcycle, leading to the crash.

The coroner identified the cause of death to be blunt force trauma due to motor vehicle crash. The manner of death is an accident. There were a number of motorcycles traveling together, but no one else was involved in the crash.

William James Stevens is the 23rd traffic fatality for Fort Wayne and Allen County in 2016. Police continue to investigate.
