Binghamton Police Officer Criminal Trial Begins

The criminal trial of a Binghamton Police officer accusing Chief Joseph Zikuski of sexual harassment began in city court Monday.
Officer Kristi Sager is charged with leaving the scene of an accident.
This stems from an incident on February 5th. Two people testified Monday, accident witness Richard Schubert and Matthew Keefe, who owns the car sager hit.
Sager's defense attorney argues the charge against Sager is retaliation for refusing Zikuski's sexual advances.
In an administrative hearing in march witnesses said Sager smelled of alcohol during the incident, something Sager denies, saying she slid after hitting ice.
sager brought her charges against Zikuski to the state's Human Right's Division.
Zikuski has since been placed on administrative leave.
Sager's trial for leaving the scene of an accident continues Wednesday morning at 9:30.
