SUNY Broome's is recognizing breast cancer by turning their ice rink pink!

Saturday, the Hockey 4 Hope Charity held its annual hockey game.

The game honors Constance Glauser who passed away from breast cancer in 2006.

Satuday's event also included silent auctions, raffles among other prizes. More than 500 people attended the game.

Each player wore a name on the back of their jersey representing someone who was affected by cancer.

"Originally it was just about raising money, but it's just about getting all the guys together and remembering everybody that's either passed away or dealing with this horrible disease," said founder of Hockey 4 Hope Brian Laing.

"It's such a pervasive disease in our society right now. So to see an event like this and be a part of it is just really special for all of us," said Chris Bala, participant and former B-Sens player.

Saturday's event raised more than $15,000 for the Gellar Fund of the Lourdes Foundation and Make-A-Wish of Central New York.
