How healthy is Broome County? Maybe not so much, at least compared to other counties in the state.



A study by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Broome County ranked 28th in health factors and 51st in health outcomes out of 62 counties statewide. Broome ranked 30th and 48th in those respective categories last year.


The study measured such factors as premature death, adult smoking, and education level. Neighboring Tioga County ranked 36th in health outcomes and 24th in health factors.
