Barn Destroyed in Fire Thursday Afternoon

Published:
A fire in Triangle Thursday afternoon completely destroys a two story barn.

The fire was off of Route 26 on the Old Catskill Turnpike and was called in by a passer-by just after 2:00pm.

There were no injuries and there were no animals inside the barn.

The owners of the property were not home at the time of the fire according to officials.

Chief of the Triangle Fire Department Glenn Pahlmann said, "It's under control right now but the barn collapsed with in a matter of minutes. It was a defensive fight, I mean it was pretty much on the ground pretty quick. It could have been a spark from somewhere, we won't know until we investigate it."

Chief Pahlmann says that there was no power going to the barn and that they are still investigating the cause.
