Boeheim announces plans to retire, Gross resigns

In the wake of the NCAA sanctions levied against Syracuse University, major changes are coming to the school. Immediate changes taking effect, Athletic Director Daryl Gross has resigned from his position but will remain with the university, taking a different marketing position. Pete Salas will take over as interim AD.
In the near future, the men's basketball program will be under new leadership - near future being three years. Head Coach Jim Boeheim, who dropped from 2nd All-Time in wins to 6th after vacating 108 victories as a part of the sanctions, announced Wednesday his plan to retire in three years. Syracuse Chancellor Kent Syverud said that Boeheim's decided to make the announcement to "bring certainty to the team and program in the coming years," and to allow for a smooth transition.
Boeheim has yet to issue a statement of his own as of early Wednesday evening, however, a 10:00 press conference has been scheduled for Thursday morning.
