SUNY Broome Student Awarded Criminal Justice Scholarship

A local SUNY Broome student was granted an award Wednesday night.

19 year old, Emily Zielewicz of Johnson City was the recipient of the 2015 New York State Sheriff's Association Institute Scholarship. Sheriff David Harder was there along with several SUNY Broome faculty members to present the $250 scholarship to the criminal justice student. Zielewicz said her long term goal is to work in criminal investigations.

SUNY Broome student, Emily Zielewicz said, " That's the key to me is bringing justice to people who are affected by crimes and figuring out what really happened and why and things like that. That's what I like."

Zielewicz has a 4.0 gpa at SUNY Broome and she will be attending Binghamton University.
