BU's Sina named ECAC Rookie of the Week

VESTAL, N.Y. – Freshman point guard Jasmine Sina has been named the ECAC Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week. She earned the honor by virtue of her performance in the America East Tournament this past weekend.
Sina poured in a game-high 19 points against Maine in the America East quarterfinals on Saturday at the Events Center. She drained six three-point field goals in the process and also finished the game with a pair of assists and two steals.
The game against Maine capped a banner year for Sina. The previous evening, she was named the America East Rookie of the Year. Sina finished the season with 14.8 points per game, which is the highest scoring average by a Binghamton player since the 2001-02 season (Sarah Cartmill averaged 18.4 ppg and current assistant coach Leah Truncale finished that year with 13.3 ppg.).
With 3.0 three-point field goals per game, Sina currently ranks eighth on the NCAA Division I level. Sina's scoring average also ranks fourth overall in the America East Conference.
