Looking to warm up a bit before parade?

You can register for the parade day mile run. The run starts 1:00 o'clock at the Broome County Library and ends at the Belmar pub. A ribbon cutting was held Friday afternoon with the Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce at Confluence Running in Binghamton.

You can register Saturday before the race in front of the Broome County library for $17.00. Officials for the race hope these events will help people become more interested in running and staying fit.

Project Manager Matthew Gawors said, "A lot of people don't actually know they can run, that they can get out there and do fitness activities they feel intimidated by it, or anything of that sort. So we really encourage people to get out and get going."

There are a 140 people signed up as of right now. Officials would like to see 200 people taking part in the event..
