Binghamton University Students Celebrate Purim

There was plenty of reason for Jewish students at Binghamton University to celebrate Wednesday night.
It was the annual Purim Festival, a tradition that's been taking place for over two decades at the school. The festival is celebrated every year on the 14th of the hebrew month of Adar. The holiday commemorates the salvation of the jewish people in ancient Persia from Haman's plot to kill all jews in a single day. The students celebrated by sending food gifts to friends, giving money to the poor and enjoying a festive Purim meal.
