Published:
Could Binghamton's biggest musical institutions come together for a special collaboration?

They talked Tuesday at the Binghamton Rotary meeting about the Philharmonic teaming up with Tri-Cities Opera on programming. The 71-member Philharmonic brings small ensembles to schools, offers no-charge master classes to young musicians, and participates in adult musical education through Binghamton University.

Binghamton Philharmonic Representative Mike Epstein, "It's astounding what comes out and how well it's done. And how appreciative this audience is my main message is that the community needs to support its own cultural institutions."

The Philharmonic will perform an additional classical concert this year bumping the total up to five.
