Police: Burglary Suspect Damages Police Equipment While Under Arrest

Published:
Police say a burglary suspect compounded his problems by kicking and screaming after his arrest.

On Saturday morning state police investigated a report of a suspicious man in the lobby of an apartment complex on Conklin Road in Conklin. They say he became irate during the investigation and began to scream.

While being brought back to the station police say he kicked the patrol car and damaged part of the car's computer.

They say 33-year-old James McNeilly of Binghamton entered the apartment complex and stole keys from it.

He is charged with felony burglary, criminal mischief and disorderly conduct. McNeilly was sent to the Broome County Jail without bail.
