Bearcats injuries allow others to shine

Seeing a player go down with an injury is tough. It's tough for the player to miss time and tough for the coach to find a suitable replacement. For the BU Bearcats, injuries have run rampant this year, but are almost a blessing in disguise. We know Dusan Perovic and Nick Madray can contribute when healthy, but Perovic is out for the year, and if Madray's ankle continues to swell after next week's doctor's evaluation, he could be shut down as well.
However, without them, their absence has allowed Bobby Ahearn and Justin McFadden to get extra minutes and prove their worth. In their freshman year, McFadden is averaging 7.2 points and 3.9 rebounds a game and Ahearn 4.4 points and 4.0 boards a game.
For Tommy Dempsey, it gives him better insight into his team's depth.
The Bearcats travel to Maine on Saturday.
