Cimino not bothered by Watkins off night

The Binghamton Bearcats fell to UMBC Wednesday night 71-55 after trailing by just one at the end of the first half. Noticeably quiet on the scoresheet, three time America East Rookie of the Week Imani Watkins. The freshman guard shot just 1-12 and added three foul shots for 5 points and committed 7 turnovers. Despite her bad night, Head Coach Linda Cimino is far from concerned.
"Imani's a freshman. We all forget Imani's a freshman, okay," Cimino said. "The girl has been the heart and soul of our team. She had a bad game. Everybody has a bad game, but when your best player has a bad game everybody wants to talk about. Imani's a freshman, she did not have a good game today, she still worked hard, she still kept her head up and I'm proud of her for that. But she's a freshman, she's 18 years old, that's going to happen sometimes. I think that, between her and Jasmine they're playing 40 minutes a game. That's a lot of pressure on them and I think they've handled themselves very well, I think they're going to continue to handle themselves very well. But they're allowed a pass, they're allowed to have a bad game."
The Bearcats travel to UMass Lowell on Sunday.
