The funeral for New York State Trooper Glen Woods took place Tuesday at Our Lady of Good Counsel in Endicott Tuesday morning.

Woods passed away on Tuesday from natural causes in his sleep. He was 45 years old. Family, friends and co-workers showed up to the service to show their support. The Troop C State Police offered the american flag and two trooper hats to Woods' children. Woods had road-side patrol duties and was a fire arms instructor and trained with the Colliison Reconstruction Unit. His fellow troopers say Woods' loss is a great one.

"Glen was just such a great individual who exemplifies all the qualities that we look for in troopers. He had honesty, integrity, and had just a great work ethic," said Troop C Commander Donald M. Faughnan.

"We go back to work with a heavy heart knowing that we lost such a great man and a great asset and a great source of information. But he would want us to get back to work and get back to work hard and we plan on doing that tomorrow," said Sergeant Jason A. Cawley of the Endwell Barracks.

The Glen Woods family scholarship fund has been established in his honor.
