Sherburne Man Charged with Felony Assult and Endangering Welfare of a Child

A Sherburne man is under arrest after police say a 9-month-old boy suffered a broken arm and leg under his care.

Police have charged 26-year-old Brandon Thomas with felony assault and endangering the welfare of a child. Police say the child was taken to Upstate Bone and Joint Center and that a subsequent investigation showed suffered his injuries in December of 2014. Police say Thomas is the live-in boyfriend of the child's mother. The child has been placed in the custody of another family member. Thomas is in the Chenango County Jail on $20,000 cash bail or $40,000 bond.
