Police: Homer Man Arrested for Alleged Larceny

Published:
A Homer man is under arrest after police say he stole almost 12 thousand dollars from the Homer Elementary School's Parent Teacher Organization.

Police say that 39-year-old Kurt Kleefeld was the PTO President at the time of the alleged larceny.

Police say they received the report when the treasurer of the PTO reported what he said were discrepancies in the PTO's financial records.

Homer police investigated, and they say they determined that several thefts occurred between December 2012 and August of 2014, with a total of more than $11,900 missing from the PTO account.

Kleefeld is charged with 3 counts of grand larceny, 2 counts of falsifying business records, and scheming to defraud: all felonies. Kleefeld is scheduled to appear in the Town of Homer Court at a later date.
