Jury Selection To Start in Binghamton Murder/Beating Trial

By Fox 40 Staff.
Jury selection begins Tuesday in the trial of a man facing four charges including Second-Degree Murder in the death of a binghamton man and the beating of his pregnant fiance.
Police say 26-year-old Nigel Saunders took part in the killing of 23-year-old Jordan Dordell and the beating of his 19-year-old fiancee on Mygatt street in November of 2013. Saunders was charged along with co-defendant Julian Talamantez.
Talamantez has already pled guilty and was sentenced to 25 years to life for the murder of Jordan Dordell, and 15 years to life for the attempted murder of Dordell's fiance. Police say they found Dordell's and his fiancee's home on fire. When the fire was extinguished they found Dordell's body and said both were brutally beaten -- stabbed -- tied down -- doused with charcoal lighter fluid -- and set on fire.
