Electricians Try to Restore Power After Family Dollar Fire, Chief Says

Published:
Binghamton fire officials say electricians were on scene at the Family Dollar on Vestal Ave after Saturday's fire shut-down the entire plaza.

Just after midnight Saturday several fire agencies responded to a fire at the Family Dollar.

The Binghamton fire chief says electricians are now trying to restore power to several businesses inside the plaza at 1173 Vestal Avenue.

Other businesses in the plaza include Domino's Pizza, H&R Block and the Medicine Shoppe.

Fire officials say the Family Dollar suffered significant damage to the interior and exterior of the store.

While the other businesses suffered from smoke damage and loss of water, gas and electricity, no one was hurt in the fire and officials are still investigating.
