Program Helps Residents Get Rid of and Recycle Christmas Trees

Published:
Well with the holidays now behind us, have you gotten rid of your Christmas tree?

A free program in Broome County is helping residents get rid of trees and recycle them at the same time.

Town of Union residents still have a few more weeks to drop their trees off at four different locations, including Highland Park, through the Hooper Road entrance, Glendale Park, William Hill, and Choconut Center.

Some of the trees will be recycled and placed along hiking trails in the area.

The department is asking that trees are free from bags. They will be accepted until January 31st.
