Humane Society Animals Find New Homes

Published:
The holidays are over and dozens of new pets have found a new home.

The Humane Society in Binghamton has recorded one of their highest rates of adoption in the month of December ever, with 33 cats and 27 dogs being adopted. Many of the pets were gifts for families, but managers say every time a pet is adopted, they feel their hard work in getting the animals prepared is paying off.

Laurie Hubik, shelter manager of Humane Society said, "The whole reason that any of us work in the shelter and volunteer at the shelter is to see the animals from the time they come in and the condition it comes in to it's recovery and ultimately to see it go to its forever home."

Anyone interested in adopting a pet from the Humane Society is invited to come in on Tuesday through Friday from noon to five and on Saturdays from 11 to 4.
