The National Weather Service in North Platte has issued a Red
Flag Warning FOR WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY, which is in
effect from 1 PM this afternoon to 6 PM MDT this evening.

* Affected Area...In NEZ210...Fire Weather Zone 210 Frenchman
Basin.

* Winds...South 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.

* Relative Humidity...As low as 12 percent.

* Impacts...Any fires which may develop, will have a high
probability to spread rapidly.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.

* WHAT...West winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 65 mph.

* WHERE...Entire Tri-State Area.

* WHEN...Until 6 PM EDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines.
Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult,
especially for high profile vehicles.

A High Wind Warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected
or occurring. Sustained wind speeds of at least 40 mph or gusts

...HIGH SURF ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM NOON THURSDAY TO
9 PM PDT FRIDAY...

* WAVES AND SURF...Seas 8 to 12 feet during the day Thursday
building to 10 to 13 feet into Friday. Breaking waves 15 to 20
feet possible in the surf zone.

* TIMING...12 PM Thursday to 9 PM Friday. Largest waves expected
Thursday night through late Friday morning.

* IMPACTS...Beach visitors, surfers, fisherman and others
visiting the beaches should be prepared for building seas with
dangerous crashing waves in the surf zone. Expect an increased
risk of rip currents that can pull swimmers and surfers out to
sea. Waves will run up beaches faster than usual. Sea surface
temperatures in the mid to upper 50s will cause hypothermia in
a short amount of time. Never turn your back to the ocean!

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A High Surf Advisory means that high surf will affect beaches in
the advisory area, producing rip currents, localized beach
erosion and sneaker waves.

* SURF...10-15 feet on west and northwest facing beaches.

* IMPACTS...There is an increased risk for ocean drowning. Rip
currents can pull swimmers and surfers out to sea. Large
breaking waves can cause injury...wash people off beaches and
rocks...and capsize small boats near shore.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A High Surf Advisory means that high surf will affect beaches in
the advisory area...producing localized beach erosion and
dangerous swimming conditions. Swim near a lifeguard. If caught
in a rip current, relax and float. Don't swim against the
current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline. If
unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help.
