Would-be hitmen foil a murder plot when investigators say the two men went to police instead of carrying out the plot. Police say Kenna Morrison was plotting to kill her boyfriend, and they say she was trying to get it done rather quickly.

"It appears at least from what we've seen she was serious about this," said Corporal Michael Mahan, Muskogee Police Department.

"She had approached several different people about it including these two gentlemen. She had spoken about several different methods of trying to do this."

Police say friends of Kenna Morrison walked into the Muskogee Police Department saying Morrison was trying to kill her boyfriend. This all happened over the weekend after the two were fighting.

"The story that they were telling panned out and that's kind of where our investigation started," Mahan said.

Kenna Morrison made her first appearance today in Muskogee District Court. She appeared over closed-circuit television from the jail.

Prosecutors also learned Morrison was on a three-year suspended sentence from Wyoming. Court records show Morrison was convicted of endangering children.

District Attorney Larry Moore says the two men were able to help police stop Morrison from possibly committing a crime.

"If it is true we don't have a murder on our hands, and that's really, really good," said Muskogee County District Attorney Larry Moore.

"These two guys obviously did the right thing," Mahan said. "They understood that her intentions apparently were serious. They took it seriously."

Morrison is being held without bond at the Muskogee County Jail. The soliciting for murder charge carries a sentence of five years to life in prison.
