Scottsdale police arrest woman's boyfriend after standoff
Scottsdale police arrested a man they said broke into his ex-girlfriend's apartment and barricaded himself in the crawl space late Thursday night.
The woman called police as her boyfriend was trying to get in the apartment near Indian School and Miller roads and she then escaped with minor injuries after he tried to assaulted her, police said.
Police said they believed the suspect was armed when he moved into the crawl space so they evacuated about 50 people, many of whom were rousted from bed in only their pajamas or underwear, police said.
The standoff lasted about an hour before officers physically removed the man from the apartment.
