07/11/2011 10:30 AM ET: On Saturday, July 16, between 4am and noon ET, we will perform back-end maintenance along with the release a package of modifications to correct open issues from recently released projects. Among the improvements will be:
To correct an error in the timestamp for Current Conditions
To correct a gap in the right side of the player for the In Story A video assignment
To correct an issue causing the Branding Feature to "disappear" intermittently
To allow stories shared to Facebook from a story page to include the headline, summary and summary graphic.
During this time, the Producer will be unavailable for publishing. There will be no downtime for your live site or video player.
In addition, we are pleased to announce the first steps in a large-scale project aimed at simplifying the process required to post stories and other content to your website. Added long-term benefits will be sites that load faster as well as more rapid rollout of new features and functionality.
Our first phase – for release in late August/early September - will add the ability to include a summary image on Breaking News assignments. Sites that have customized the look and feel of their breaking news assignments will also see the effects of behind-the-scenes code optimizations, detailed in the attached CSS Guide.
